Texas Dove Hunts

Dears Fellows, A few of my buddies decided instead of freezing our a$$es off pheasant hunting in South Dakota this year. We would do a dove/quail hunt near San Antonio. I looking for any insight, expirences, hints, or general comments. We look to be down, enjoying some BBQ and Shiner Bock, in the middle of October. Thanks in advance.

Dove are easy; quail are hard. Will you have pointers for the quail? Wear good boots (don't break 'em in on the hunt.)

That is a good idea, some of the more southern locations is where a lot of people go including Mexico for Dove. I have some land in Oklahoma and don't hunt up that way any more just due to the weather.

San Antonio!

My wife and I were in San Antonio last winter and I can tell you from several days of experience that the Shinner Bock is GREAT!!
As to the dove hunting, well, there I have no experience.
