Who is Olin?
Below is from looking OLN, the stock symbol for Olin, up on Yahoo finance. I own some as it pays a great dividend as well as having good products. The internet can answer most of the questions seen on these threads.

Olin Corporation engages in the manufacture and sale of chlor alkali products to commercial and industrial markets in the United States and internationally. It operates in three segments: Chlor Alkali Products, Metals, and Winchester. The Chlor Alkali Products segment offers chlorine and caustic soda, sodium hydrosulfite, hydrochloric acid, hydrogen, bleach products, and potassium hydroxide. The Metals segment manufactures and sells copper and copper alloy sheets, strips, foils, rods, welded tubes, fabricated parts, and stainless steel and aluminum strips. The Winchester segment provides sporting ammunitions, canister powder, reloading components, small caliber military ammunition and components, and industrial cartridges. The company markets its products and services to various industrial customers, wholesalers, and other distributors, as well as to the U.S. government and its contractors. Olin was founded in 1892. It was formerly known as Olin Mathieson Chemical Corporation and changed its name to Olin Corporation in 1969. The company is headquartered in Clayton, Missouri.

The IMR company owns IMR.

ASAIK, Hodgdon doesn't manufacture any powder or own any conpany that does. They but from powder manufacturers all over the world.

But when they put out a spec for bid, it's pretty specific. when you get a can of HS-6, it's the same powder whether it was manufactured by W-W, IMI or somebody in Uganda.

Hodgdon did indeed buy IMR a while back. As mentioned, they bought the rights to sell Winchester powder. Many Hodgdon and Winchester powders are made by Primex.

Western Powder Co. owns Ramshot and Accurate powders.

Hodgdon bought IMR Powder Co., Inc. of New York. They did not get the IMR factory which is run by Expro in Canada.
Likewise, they took over the distributorship of Winchester Ball powders but they did not acquire the factory in St Marks, Florida which has at different times been owned by Olin, operated independently as Primex, and is now a subsidiary of General Dynamics.

Hodgdon "Spherical" brand powders are made in St Marks and "Extreme." brand in Australia by ADI.

Hodgdon makes Pyrodex and 777 black powder substitutes and that is all.

You might find this one interesting... The relevant part is about halfway down the page on the right hand side and has a link that'll get you to more about "the sporting equipment group".
