Ruger M77 Bolt action-Best weight in .308

I am picking up this rifle on Friday. Just curious what weight bullet you have all found to be the most accurate in this rifle. I picked up some 150 factory rounds that I'm going to try. My dies and such will be here next week and I want to find a good weight to load. I'll be using H335 powder. I'll be using the rifle strictly for target 100/200yds.

Thanks
Viper

I can't think of anything better than the 150's for your intended purpose.

165 palma match bullets might be better but there is no real way to tell what combination your particular rifle will be best with. All rifles are particular unto themselves.

165 Gr Sierras have been the most accurate in 2 of my 308's. Now, that is my 308's, yours could be totally different, The botom line is that YOU will have to determine this as no one can TELL you in advance what YOUR rifle will shoot well.

I use several makes of 165 grain .308 bullets and think they will shoot as flat as most 150s considering their SD and BC. For heavy brush country, I use a mild load 180 grain and for Elk in timber, the Nosler partition with confidence
