Political Action Request

The USDA has proposed to sell over 300,000 acres of your land to help pay for rural school finacial shortfalls. The BLM is slated to follow suit.

Rural schools are in financial woes. Selling this land is a temporary fix. If you ever plan to head west or north this is the land you may have wanted to hunt on.

Please take a few minutes and E-mail your federal representative and senator and ask them to oppose this sale. Please help keep this land in the public trust.

Thank you

I am sorry for the misinformation...all the states were not all western or northern states.

According to a map by Associated Press the states with 5,000 or more acres on the block include Virginia, North Carolina, Louisiansa, Missouri,Michigan, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Colorado,California,Utah . They even found 1 to 4.9 thousand in Texas to put up for sale.

The map in my paper will not clearly scan. The AP dateline was 2/11/06 the AP website only lists a story about grapes on the 11th to date.

Please contact your representatives.
