If someone had the ability to build firearms from scratch using a small home shop what are the legal requirements or restrictions? |

Wouldn't you need to get the dreaded tax-stamp? There is something written in the rules about building "destructive devices." Good question though. When we were stupid kids, we used to build zip-guns. Wonder what you'd have to do to LEGALLY do that today.

Scott, I don't know what all's involved but I believe I read either in an ATF circular or the book of regulations something about obtaining permission and registration of a "one time" manufacture of a firearm. You need to contact the BATF in your state for concrete info. You'll find their number under US Gov't. George
