I was wondering if I might attempt to do my own polish job on the breechface of my 1911's SS slide?
If so, what's the best way to do it? Thanks, Ben. |

Ben, this is a job that you can do yourself. You need a hard Arkansas stone small enough to fit flat against the breech face. What you're after is just to polish, not remove metal. Some may disagree but I don't recommend any kind of sand paper or files. It takes time and patience. Just polish with the stone until you achieve the finish you want. George
