How good do you gotta get??

How accurate do you gotta get to play this long range game. I read an article that you shoot little chickens, off-hand at 100yrds. You then shoot 200, 250, 300..(with sticks). I bought a H&R Trapdoor froma "re-enactor" fella but don't know if I'm good enough to hit targets. How big are they at the different ranges? I finally found a range to shoot to 300yrds. I could probably hit a real-life sized buffalo at 300. ps: Eastern too.

Depends on the distance but I believe the steel is full sized on the smaller targets and half sized on the larger ones. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I just feel sorry for the feller whose job it is to carry that full size steel buffalo all the way out the 300 yard line!
