Carry knives

What do you bring with you? These are mine that I rotate.

Depends on what you want to use each for.

Personally I carry the Gerber Multitool as the tools have more use for me in everyday life. (You can open the pliers with just a quick flip of the wrist, and then get to the bades one handed as well.) However I would never carry one for self defense as it would be just too slow and unweildy to get at and use.

For a self defense tool I would probably choose either the SpyderCo look-alike or the second down K-Bar. The SypderCo is one hand opening (thumb open) and is a pocket carry for everyday.

The Kabar is probably the most "tactical" for the lot and can handle rough use, but wear one on your belt and you will draw more attention.

But then, I don't carry a knife for self defense. A knife is more of a general tool to fix things. The adage, "Never bring a knife to a gunfight" comes to mind.

Spyderco Endura set up for left hand carry, tip up in the left pocket. In the right I mix it up, my current knife is a Spyderco Centofante, but I sometimes carry a Kershaw Blackout, Gerber Paraframe or Spyderco Delica SS.

Not allowed

In many States knives over 2-1/2 inch are not allowed to be carried unless in the open. And then long knives are still not allowed inside City limits. California has a ban on dual edged knives also switchblades as do many other States. Unless you just have to have one I don't see bothering with them for defence. I do have two nice Randles and a Gerber that keep because I like them.
