well they say a 8.8 grain to 9.3 of bullseye for ruger/thompson load and 6.5 to 7.0 for regular load so I figured to be safe somewhere plumb middle should be good in my trapper?

Alliant lists 5.4 gr. of Bullseye under a 250 gr lead slug on their website.

I fired some handloads (not mine) which were made up of 8 gr of Bullseye under a 240 gr hardcast lead SWC in a .44magnum. They were pretty snappy. Accuracy was ****-poor BTW.

Bullseye is a good powder for smaller capacity cases and lower weights.

Heavy weights and larger capacity cases tend to favor slower burning powders. The position of the powder in the case becomes a real factor with the .45LC. Slower buring and bulkier powders are better in that respect. You can help keep the powder charge in place with a small piece of Dacron. With a (realtivly) big dose of Bullesye under it though, I' be very leary of putting anything foreign in the case.

8.0 grains of Unique with a 250 grain lead bullet has been the 'standard' load for 45 Colt for decades. 8.4 in a trapper is certainly safe as long as OAL is maintained.

Yes 8.4 grains of Unique is a good load, BUT, 8.4 grains of Bullseye, like the original poster said may be a little hot...

If you are shooting this in a Blackhawk or a Contender, ot any of the carbines you should be fine.

This is definitely not fodder for an old Colt SAA or clone...
