Just got a Rem 870 with 20 and 28" barrels and want to shoot some trap. Any tips?

Trying to prepare for grouse and rabbit season too.

I'm not sure how proficient you are, JT, but here goes.

First, I'm an enthusiastic trap shooter, not a good one. I don't work at it hard enough to get good, just hard enough to have fun.

Get on down to your local range, tell the folks you'd like to shoot and follow the range rules carefully.

As for small game, the best way for rabbits, etc, is to go out with an experienced hunter for that species and see how it happens.

BE safe, good luck and have fun!!

Thanks for the tips.

I'm probably going to go with a guy who hunts every season. He's worked at two of the gun ranges I frequent and sold me a couple of guns and the Rem 870.

He's a friend.

Thanks.
