Roscoe Benson posted this in the shotgun forum on Gunspot. With his permission, I'm posting it here.
Erick **************** A frequent complaint among users of the Scattergun Tech/Wilson Trak-Lock sights is that the rear sight has inadequate elevation to zero the piece. My own 870 equipped with these could be zeroed at 50 yards with slugs, but the rear sight was at the absolute top of its adjustment. I had occasion to speak to the folks at Wilson Combat today. I asked them if they had considered offering a taller aperture for the rear sights to correct this. I was told that, in fact, the sights have been re-designed to provide more elevation adjustment and, instead of castings, they are now machined from bar stock. They said the mounting hole spacing stayed the same, so the new sight will retrofit to receivers drilled for the older sight. This is good news for those of us who prefer a ghost-ring rear to be closer to the eye than the competing MMC or LPA/Mec-Gar. Rosco |

Guess I'm behind the curve again, Erick. MY "Ghost Ring Sights" are standard peeps, made by Lyman and Williams, with apertures removed.
And, while the fancier ones look spiffy, and may possibly be more shock resistant (Debateable), mine have plenty of adjustment, both ways... |
