I've used Unique From 8.0 grains to 11.0 grains with Federal 150 primer and have had no problems, but that was with a Ruger BH.

But my powder of choice is H-110.

Using Unique you will not be able to get the full potential out of a .41 Magnum.
I load the following UNIQUE loads:
5.0 grains...A good PPC load.
8.0 grains...A generic version of the old lead Police Load.
9.0 grains...This is the wife's load for her 657. It's a bit hot.
My all time favorite S&W and hunting load is 17.5 grains of 2400.

My favorite loads for the .41- 210 grain bullets are

17.6 grains 2400 + CCI 350
Then. years later,
20.6 H110 + CCI 350

Stick to slower powders for magnum stuff.
I think faster powders would be fine with lighter bullets, but I haven't tried anything faster than blue dot.

These loads are book loads, but in some books they are .1 grain over.
Get a few reloading books, and do your homework.
Just don't blame anybody but yourself if your gun blows up using these loads. They are max loads in some books.

You've been warned.
