Does anybody own one of these? I am very seriously considering buying one. And if you would compare it to a Remington 870, what would be the major or minor differences?

The 590 vs. 870 question pops up periodically. Do a search for comments. Summary: they're both top choices, and while each has some marginal advantage over the other in some way the differences are largely negligible. Go with the one that appeals to you (and watch out for reduced-capacity 870s).
