Disassembly of Norinco '97

I've just purchased a Norinco '97 - the Chinese copy of the Winchester Model 1897 pump-action shotgun. It's supposed to disassemble in the same way as the original Model 1897, but doesn't do so - neither my gunsmith nor I can get the receiver components out of the receiver itself. Has anyone had any experience with this Chinese copy, and if so, do you have any recommendations or suggestions? NB - Despite my gunsmith's somewhat vocal opinion, the use of hammers, car crushers and demolition charges will NOT be considered viable suggestions!
