45 ACP Headstamp?

Anybody familiar with this headstamp?

F.M.C. "SL"
|| 1954 ||

I recently came across it on a hard to deprime brass casing. I now have one large and two tiny flash holes. Has my Lee decapping die punched out a Berdan primer, or is this something different? There is no damage to the decapping pin.

Information appreciated. I'm fairly new to relaoding.

Argentinian, made in 1954.

Probably standing for Fabrica Militar Cartouces, or something similar, with SL being the location of the plant.

Is there a nice big burr extending from the center flash hole INTO the primer pocket?

If so, you've punched a Berdan primed case. Toss it.

Mike right re the ID.
Punchin it a good trick. I usually bend or break the pin when runnin into one of those.

If you havent already done so.....check your pin, if a little bent it can mess up Boxer flash holes.

Thanks for the replys/ID.

I said in the original post that the decapping pin was not damaged.

I don't see any reason why I can't reload this now unless I want to save it for a collection of various headstamps.

Lee decapping pins are bulletproof.

Odds are a "real" primer won't fit in it, so just save it.

Don't try to reload it. The third flash hole will give you uncharted ignition rate if a boxer primer will work in that pocket.

Also chance that there is enough anvil left in the case to set off a Boxer when it is seated.

I saw you said no damage to pin.....just wanted to make sure there was NO bend. But if it clears boxer flash holes without touching the sides.....good nuff.
