i cant understand gun haters

this is me;

Im 6' and weigh in around 245-250 lbs , i know how to fight hand to hand, with a knife and with a club or a staff, i will admit at the age of 41 i am not the monster i was 10 years ago but im still not a lot of fun to have to deal with. Now i will say i have had my butt handed to me a few times in my life but it was not handed to me by joe average . and with all of that there are hundreds of tousands of folks like me and badder wandering around our nation. So whats my point?
Joe and Sue average gun hater wants all guns removed from public hands and expect the cops to save them if a monster goes off his rocker and decides to run amuck among them!! Bare handed im still good for at least 4 or 5 non fighter types and armed with a knife or a club there will be carnage strowed about the streets . how can any sane person not understand that thier best chance against a nutt is a gun in thier hand ?

But you dont understand!! If you go nutso and try to beat up the soccermoms in their mind it should go like this. You come charging up. They threaten to call the po po. Should you be insane enough to not listen then they whip out the trusty cell phone and call 911. Now if see them actually CALLING the po po does not send you packing, supercop will arrive in seconds smite you hip and thigh and drag you off to jail forever.
A lot have this mindset, I know several. Even if you were to beat them to a pulp it wouldnt convince them they have any right or need to be able to deal with you the next time because mr po po was just slow for some reason the last time.

I often hear the point that 'why cant you just duke it out fair and square' or something like that.

points like that are disturbing, and in denial of the real problem... there is always a bigger fish. Fist fighting never proves whos right, just who has the advantage.

its because of the following little fact.

its fear of responsibility.

back in the real world, if you did something you had to face up to it. for example in 1950 you decided to burn your neighbors house down with your neighbors locked inside, you knew and expected the state to strap you into ol sparky and toss 50,000 volts through you.

now you do that, and you get 20 years of prison with weekly phsychologist group talk.

or if thats not sufficient,

in physochological parlance, hte hatred of guns is caused by the individuals refusal to be around anything that reminds them that they are responsible for something. and therefore they do their best to keep everyone from having the ability to do something.

example, back in the 1980s the huge push against video game arcades,, its a "den of sex and evil". the pool halls and dance halls of an earlier time.

refusing to learn how to change your cars oil and oil filter, because if you did it wrong youd only have yourself to blame. but if the mechanic did something wrong, or you waited 20,000 miles between oil changes and needed 3,000 in repairs... its not your fault. because the meschanic never said come back in 3-4000 miles.

I know several people that have the "people don't need guns" mentality. If you listen to them, they don't make any sense. They give you the whole "you don't need guns because there's no reason to hunt anymore and you don't need to defend yourself cuz thats what the police and the military are for." I always love that one.
My father was in the Army and he told me, "there's nothing scarier than being around someone who's never handled a firearm before." He grew up around guns and would tell me how when he was a kid, all the kids would take their shotguns and hunting rifles to school with them so they could go hunting right after school let out. There were no "shootings". They didn't point their guns at each other. The thought never entered their minds. They were raised with guns and taught how to act around them.
Fewer people today are raised around firearms and cosenquently have no idea how to behave around them. It's an "unknown" to them and people fear the "unknown". Just like anything else, some people face their fears and move on while others allow their fears to define them. I feel the later is where the hatred of guns comes from. In their minds, its easier to eliminate firearms all together, rather then face their fears and learn how to be responsible.

And gun haters can't understand us. Go figure...

I'm not sure what your size or fighting prowess had to do with this.

Not to be off topic, but what training, if any, did you go through for staff fighting?

I liken it a Hangin.

People are fearful so they want to find a scapegoat to hang so to decieve themselves into thinking the bad guy is now gone and they can be safe.......

Even though deep down inside they know they hung the wrong man!

The president is under pressure to find a solution to make mob feel like he's fixed something..... Even though it's not the problem, that's irrelevant since it makes them feel better.
And if the president gets more control & brownie points from his base in the process, its a win-win for him!

And we think we're civilized!

I hate when people don't reveal they have a banana in there pocket. But I make no issue of it.

I just know they're happy to see me, Marry X-mass

You sound a little full of yourself.

Maybe people who don't like guns run into people like. You basically just said you are a monster and no 4 or 5 average Joe's could take you, and only a gun could stop people like you.

That's the first impression I got too.

Mongo, I think you could have made the same point without the self assessment.

The Mohawk scares me more than anything else. Not because I fear from bodily harm, nor my life, but more for the fashion statement it makes.
