I'm good with white hot cauterizing irons to stop the bleeding, and boiling pitch to cover the stump.

I'm a doctor, but they don't give my kind the keys to the candy store.

Several of my bestest shooting buddies are docs (4 gynos for some reason, an ER doc, an optho and plastic surg). This includes [warning name drop] noted SWAT author Dr. Peter Stevenson, OB/GYN, of Detroit Rock City. My gyno's so tactical he wears a black lab coat. Guns&Docs

Ok,only one nurse. We can do better than this.

Any psychiatrists? Dentists? Midwives? Acupuncturists?

Any armed women medical types?

Alnamvet,

I don't see to many other people in the Peds world. Nice to meet you. Will you be going to the AAMS conference this year, or do you ever attend? If so maybe I'll run into you there if I go this year... don't know how exciting Kansas City is though.

Nice to meet you Wing...

...never been to a meeting...I understand they are headquartered here in VA; in fact, I don't go to any meetings anymore....it's all I can do to remember to recert ACLS, PALS, NALS, PHTLS...gosh, I feel like every 6 months, there's something else about to expire, not to mention 6 licenses in 6 states, each with a different renewal date. Anyway, how's the pre-hospital biz in Texas?

Business is good. Very busy as well. Although technically I'm not pre hospital. I'm part of a hospital based program. Know what you mean about the certs though. Gotta redo ACLS this month (probably the most useless class you can take if you specialize in Peds). That's the good thing about AAMS though, maybe you learn, maybe you don't... who cares, freebies abound and the liquor flows like water.

Take care...

Working in level 2 trauma center in the inland northwest, another smaller ER in the same city and looking for some agency work on the side. Starting back to school this fall for Family Nurse Practitioner.

So, now there are 2.

I'm another MD, shooting for 16 years, and I have a number of medical associates who are shooters.

There are LOTS of docs who are pro-gun. Best.
