7mm-08 loads for Encore
I've had a problem Encore that wouldn't shoot for beans. I sent it to S&W and they replaced the barrel. I have been trying to find an accurate load for it now, and wouldn't mind either a 120 or 140 gr. bullet. So far the 120 gr. Hornady v-max, pushed by 43.8 grains of ww760 has shown the most promise.
I was wondering if anyone had a pet load that that might work better for me. I carry a rifle in my vehicle daily and will use it on anything from coons to deer or pigs...whatever the situation dictates. I'd be grateful for any help....I know there are a bunch of loads in my books, but I would be more inclined to play with something that had proven itself as compared to a theoretical load from a book. |

7mm-08 loads for Encore
My pet load for my 7mm is Hornady 139 BTSP over 57 grains of IMR4350. Last time I was out I had weighed the bullets and was using 138.6-138.7 and had a 5-shot group that I could cover with a dime. Win cases and CCI 250. For my rifle I set the OAL at 3.290.
So maybe some IMR4350 might do some good for you in the 7mm-08. Last edited by jwrowland77; July 3, 2013 at 10:01 PM. |
