mossberg 800 asm .308. new barrel?

This gun has been slingin lead for about 40 years and the barrel is whooped. Do they make new barrels for this old of a gun? I love it and would like to bring it closer to the bullseye. Thanks

There are several manufacturers making barrels, but the cost, I don't know. You would need to contact one of them, and ask. Also, try Numrich or other parts houses, they may have a factory barrel.

.

I'd give that barrel a deep professional cleaning, with something like Outer's Foul Out III, and a magnified inspection of the crown, before I'd consign it to the scrap pile.

Me, too. If it was shot a box a year for 40 years but seldom cleaned, it probably has a lot of lifespan remaining.
If it was shot a case a decade for 40 years, it is fading. A box a month, it is toast.

Numrich has only .350 Rem Mag barrels left.

Was probably shot a handful of shells the weekend before every season, couldn't answer the question if it was cleaned each year, I can just see marks between the twists , looks like pitting of the metal but I can't tell
