Glaser Power R Ball Ammo?

Anyone familiar with this ammo? My son n law just gave me a box and I really don't know of anyone that uses it for defense. The only thing I have heard is that it doesn't penetrate very well making it not a very effective round. This ammo is in 45acp, and I don't know of anyone using it. Maybe someone here has used it or can give me some insight. Thanks

I have a SIG P6 that doesn't feed conventional JHP's reliably. When I carry the P6 as CCW I load it with the corbon 100gr 9mm Powerball loading. It feed 100% and is very accurate in that pistol.

ShopCorbon.com

At one point, I thought "PowRball" was Corbon's new brand name for the Glaser Silver type Safety Slug but I may be wrong.
Corbon purchased the Glaser Safety Slug line about 12-15 years ago.
See www.ShopCorbon.com .
To my limited knowledge, the PowRball loads are considered to be be decent fight stoppers & are known for + feeding & cycles in most modern semi auto pistols.

I, for one, wouldn't use PowRball as a primary load but I could see using it in spare magazines or maybe in short barrel/sub compacts like a Glock 26/27 or a Kahr model.

THE CORBON POW'RBALL is totally different than the Glaser Safety Slug, has nothing to do with the Glaser lineup, and post dates the Glaser design by two[?] decades.

That must be why Corbon puts them in the Glaser category: http://www.corbon.com/corboncart/gla...f8c140868d1863

It is my carry ammo in multiple calibers and multiple guns. Especially in the winter time.

An interesting article about Pow'r Ball.

I think the Powerball line used to be just "Corbon Pow-R-Ball," but is now "Glaser Pow-R-Ball." There is also a line called the Glaser Safety Slug. From my (somewhat limited) understanding, Safety Slugs are a totally separate beast from the Powerball.
