Finicky Guns

I'm in the process of working up a 9mm load. I've been testing them in my Beretta FS92, and with a few hundred rounds through and no issues, things are going well. I'm borrowing a friends XD subcompact, and another friends P226 to see how they run in different guns.

Are there any makes or specific pistols out there that are notoriously picky with the rounds they will feed? I'm fairly new to all of this but I figure the SIg will be the most temperamental given the tight specs and tolerances. I'm not implying that having issues with reloads is a defect, only that the tighter the tolerances, the tighter the tolerances.

Thoughts?

Had a full size Kimber that would feed reloads but hated dirty powders.....just about everything except factory loads. Most of us got rid of them for everyday carry because they wouldn't take the dirt and grime. Have to clean it daily to ensure function even if it hadn't been shot didn't cut it....

Not sure if this applies to 9mm but i have a berretta px4 storm and some of my .40s&w reloads dont feed properly...found out that i needed to taper crimp instead of using the roll crimp that was included with the die set from rcbs. Pushing the top of the casing slightly into the jacket makes a huge difference in how the reloads feed.

I've found that if you stay with a jacketed RN bullet../ you'll have very few issues with feeding on any number of guns ( and mostly its the RN not the jacketed that makes a difference..../ so jacketed vs plated is not really a big deal).

In 9mm, I've run many thousands of Montana Gold bullets in 115 gr and 124gr FMJ RN --- thru several of my handguns - with no issues ( Sig 239, Sig 226, 4" 1911's, 5" 1911...)....and my buddy uses the same overall length - same bullet shape in his 9mm's ....Springfield XD's, Sig 226, Glock model 17 ? ...etc....

Guys get in trouble with reloads on hollow points and semi wad cutters...but its because of overall length ...usually anyway.
