New bolt with semi-used bolt carrier (600 rounds)

Um can I use this new bcm bolt with my semi-used sig m400 bolt carrier. im going to change the cam pin as well. is this going to be ok? bolt should be here in the morning, gonna check headspace and then go shooting..

As long as the SIG BCG is milspec. But why swap? Or did you just buy a BCM bolt?

Keep shooting the SIG bolt until it wears out in 10,000-15,000+ rounds. Save the new BCM bolt to use then.

No need to have wear on two bolts.

ya i dont know...seeing my bolt jamed up on a rock and smashing that rock to dust makes me cringe. thats why the thought of swapping bolts comes to mind. i have shot at least 500 rounds since the incident and nothing has happened yet but i am not sure how strong these bolts are. not sure if i fatigued the lug that made contact. just dont know.

That tells you the C158 bolt steel is tougher than the little piece of rock. You are over-thinking this.

Your killing us over here .

You need to start building another rifle before you destroy that one . You did the test on the bolt , it's fine . It's time to see some threads that are asking about your new rifle and how to build it .
