XDm 45 3.8 mag extension question

Im looking into getting my first pistol. Iv shot many and know I want an Xd line but I have not used the new 3.8 with mag extension. Without it my pinky finger hangs off and I don't like it however I haven't been able to use the extension. So does that extension pinch you or get in the way and make it feel weird to reload or does it feel just like any other?

I have an XD .40 subcompact and ran into the same problem. Pierce makes a pinky extension that replaces the floorplate on your "subcompact" magazine. I love mine best $10.00 that I spent. It also doesn't change the rear grip profile for conclealing purposes. Here is a link to the product for your particular pistol. that was acuually a worry of mine and if you use the incorrect size it makes a little crack in th back that doesn't pinch but really makes it feel funny, they have the 3 sizes to match whichever back strap you are using. with the proper size on you can't even tell you are shooting a compact. you can also get a pinky groove floor plate for your compact mag to get your pinky a place to rest without having to use the full sized mag+extension which makes it easier to conceal. I have gotten used to shooting my 3.8 45ACP with the compact mag so it's not a big deal for me anymore but it's not for everyone.
