M1 30 Caliber Ammo

A friend called me today and said that he has 1000 rounds of military 30 caliber ammo in 2 sealed cans. Any idea what they might be worth?

He nor I have a 30 caliber gun.

Maybe on Tuesday he will get me some pictures of the cans.

Sealed in which decade? All military M1 Carbine ammo is non-corrosive, but not the case with .30-'06.

I was told they are carbine on 5 round stripper clips.

Should see them on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Doesn't M1 Carbine use a 10-round stripper that attaches to the magazine?

It kind of sounds like .30-06 M2 ball on Springfield Strippers. Again, who made it, when was it made, and what condition is the ammo and cans in?

On five round strippers it's either .30-06 or 7.62X51.

.30 Carbine was packaged on tren round strippers.
