How many inches in drop did you have to account for at that distance?

Thanks for the comments guys! Here is a picture I took a few weeks before I shot that distance. This is from exactly where I was shooting. The bullet drop was about 1200 inches at 1 mile, I had to dial 17.5 mils for height adjustment.

Excellent shooting. You weren't even using a terribly highly magnified scope. What was the difference in elevation between your shooting station and the target? Looks like the target was quite a bit lower.

The elevation difference is about 450 ft. It adds a little to the actual shooting distance but not much when your shooting out to a mile. Thanks for the comment!

How do you like the BA ?

I'm considering getting one or a 110 FCP, what are the pros and cons.?

Thanks! I really like the BA, the only differences between the FCP and the BA is the BA has the pistol grip stock, the cheek riser, a bigger bolt handle and also a tactical muzzle break to keep the dirt signature down. I would have got the FCP but I really wanted the pistol grip stock and the tactical muzzle break. Also I believe the FCP is a few pounds lighter than the BA, makes it easier to lug around.

How many rds do you have through it and what kind of groups are you getting at various ranges?

I looked at a TRG42 but I can't justify the price for how much I would actually use it and I've had very good luck with Savage rifles.

Looking at the blades of grass in the video seems there was a decent breeze blowing, at least at the target.

I was adjusting the knobs to get on target, could have done it either way though using the mil reticle.

Nemsis I have about 80 total rounds through it, I have yet to shoot a grouping with it but I was once shooting at 1 gallon jug at 1200 yards and hit the very top part twice only 1/4" apart, that was out of about 8 rounds though. I'm just starting to build a load with some 300gr bergers so I'll be doing a lot of grouping as soon as the wind dies down and I can get some shooting time.

It took a little while and some digging but I found a few missed rounds!

wish I had a place to shoot that far... last year I built ( all but the finishing touches... oh... & some gla$$ ) a custom long range rifle.... mines a 6.5 X 284, built on an old BRNO action, with 20 MOA adjusted mounts, & a full length, full weight stainless barrel

my personal rifle range only goes out to 300 yards, but I've been looking at building a portable stand I could run down my driveway... which could get me out to 600 + yards... would love to have a place I could shoot further...

1200 inches is 100ft if my math is correct... that's a lot of hold over, did your scope ( & what are you using BTW ??? ) have that much adjustment, or do you have ( I'd assume at least 20 ) MOA adjusted bases ???

Thanks magnum wheel, The scope is a nightforce nxs 5.5-22x56 and has 100 moa of internal adjustment and with my 30 moa rail. I get a usable 90 MOA adjustment with a 100 yard zero.

Duzell, to shoot out that far you want a capable cartridge that can shoot that far first. A .308 would be impractical but definitely not impossible, a .300 win mag would be a good cost efficient way to go. I choose the 338 lapua due to it still having lots of knock down power at long distances. Other than that it is just a lot of practice at becoming consistent in everything you do.
