I believe every pistol mentioned so far was discusssed in detail in the attachement I sent in my initial response. Make sure you read it and also compare what it states and the other comments provided to your question.
You have a wealth of information before you. I also like the Remington R1, but it seemed to be just outside your price range. Remember to consider warranty and who handles a warranty claim. It is one thing I would look at closely on foreign made pistols. Good luck with it and less us know what you bought and how you like it. |

OK, well, I guess I will wear my flame suit from the haters. My first, and only 1911 was a stainless Taurus PT1911 with the rail. It has been wonderful. Good sights, great looks, absolute reliability, really good accuracy. If anything ever breaks, either warranty, or it has parts commonality with other 1911's and I can upgrade. Not finicky with ammo either. From steel cased TulAmmo, to good hollow points, it shoots everything and puts the holes right where I want them. Trigger is pretty good too, and adjustable. Plus, it didn't set me back an arm and a leg.

Let em flame away. I have two Taurus PT 1911's. Both are blued, one in 45acp and the other in 9mm. They have been accurate and reliable. I also have an RIA Twotone Tactical that has been excellent.
