So I've been thinking of buying a Remington R-25 as my next rifle. I'm not necessarily a .308 fan. I'm probably going with 7mm-08. I already reload 7mm Mag and .280 so this is very compatible. I can't seem to find any good reviews of the R-25 as far as accuracy, reliability and fit & finish quality. I do own an AR-15 but I don't really know what to look for in the AR-10 platform and what's to avoid. I will probable use the rifle for a future Elk hunt out west and for general practice/target shooting. I'd also like to try some long distance shooting, 4-500 yds. I just bought a Ziess conquest 6.5x20x50mm scope and I need to find a nice gun to mount it on.

Is there a better rifle for the same money ($1500)?
