I don't quite understand the legitimacy arguments surrounding the Devine M1As---and the threads discussing this are so acrid and stupidly vile, I very likely will never chop through the undergrowth to that understanding.

The stock has two copper plates at the trigger assembly contact points and she is in there tight. The back of the receiver does not bear on the wood at all---which could be a problem, I suppose.
She did OK at the test firing, but that was only 50 rounds.
