I got a knife from Harbor Freight that was actually free that is an incredibly good knife. I got like a $8 coupon that could be used for anything and I ordered the knife which was about that price. It has a cutting edge on the top side of the blade that extends back about 3 inches. The blade is 5 1/2 inches long I think.
It was made in El Salvador from surgical stainless steel. The brand name is Macasa. It has the Control HRc hole test for hardness. For such a cheap knife it is really amazing. The handle is excellent too. The only problem I had with it was that it kept cutting through the canvas sheath they send me with it.
You'd be hard pressed to find a better value in a knife but whether or not you can still get those same knives from Harbor Freight is another question.
