On RARE occasions, yes. However they are few and far between. I agree that they are almost limited to contact only shooting, and carrying one in an adequately powered caliber does not lend to easy recovery for the second shot. Mine is 44 mag (loaded with 240gr speer gold dot), because if the 2nd shot ain't gonna happen and they're that close, the fist one MUST do the job.
No it's not a lot of fun to shoot, but I've shot it enough to obtain acceptable accuracy.
