The 454 is a do everything caliber if you handload. The 454 is where pain generally starts when you shoot full power loads according to big bore guy Max Prasac. I have one in 480 and find the revolver unwieldy except when hunting or at the range. I much prefer something smaller (both caliber and revolver size) as a general purpose shooter.

The target grey finish grows on you. I still think the SRH is ugly.

Get the tamer grips.
