I got me a M70 .243 that has done such a great job over the years that it now has another barrel do to throat errosion. Don't give up on it!! I may be misunderstanding your bullet choice: Sierra "Grand Slam," would that be Speer instead??

Just to let you know if it is a Speer, I could not get them to group in mine either. I ended up with the 100grn Nosler Partition. I wanted a round that would stay together and hold velocity for a clean wound channel. Going back through the data it is looking like W760 and IMR4831 were the powders that brought about the better accuracy in that barrel.
I need to get the new barrel blued and start loading/testing it. (been busy with a No.1 7mmRM and T3 25-06 that will be this years choice for hunting)
