I don't like using any sort of steel brush or scouring product on lead buildup. IMHO the risk of damage is too great. Wet patching the barrel with a lead-removing solvent, waiting an hour or so, and then scrubbing the bore with a
new bronze brush will generally take care of .22LR lead buildup.
