That's the best way to go. Buy an M16 and then get a Ceiner conversion kit for the .22. You can also convert to 9mm as well as many other calibers. You should be able to find a registered reciever ar15 for around $5000.00. M16's are going for $6000.00 to $7500 with the A2 version going for a couple thousand more.
