That depends on too many factors to narrow it down to one pistol. For each person, their size (hand / body), shooting style, preferences, felt recoil, cost, caliber, etc, etc..... all come into play. Whats best for one person is not best for the other.

Working at a range where we have a large selection of rental guns that go 10s of thousands of rounds without cleaning I can say that glocks, HKS, XDs,M&Ps, Kimbers, and Sigs all run great even when super dirty and poorly maintained. What I tell most people is that most of the companies out there today are putting out high quality products....Pick one that fits you.

At my range I notice that guns made by Taurus and keltec break often. Pistols made by most other companies rarely break.
