As a member of the medical community I have mixed feelings about the scope and concept of universal healthcare, however I would like to interject a comment on the above post.
I recently graduated a year ago as a nurse, and we were
taught that anytime children were admitted (for any reason) and it was found that the parents owned firearms, we were legally obligated to report it to a social worker. Never explored it further, and I don't work in pediatrics so I couldn't tell you how it works. But that is what we were taught to do.
Just something to think about.
