I think so.

Once you put in your request to have this work done, the wait is roughly 8 months until they get to you. However, once they notified me that I was next, I sent the gun to them and they had it back to me the next week. So, you have and can shoot your gun that whole wait period. Not a big deal. Also, once you have the dovetail, a replacement can be done at home.

Aside from buying one of the more expensive S&W j-frames with the pinned front sight, I think this is a good solution.

The nite siters do work. They just aren't a long term solution and they have limited light time until they need re-charging.
