Kraigwy, there might have been some time pass between the manufacture and when your dept got its shipment. That would explain the numbers seeming high.
Sometimes, guns can sit on shelves for even years before they get sold. Still new, but can be quite a difference between when you get it "new" and when if left the factory production line.
not saying that's what did happen, but it would explain it...
