It's a [steel] case/
shape problem, not an AR problem, per se.
The AK round is much more a truncated cone -- far less prone to stick in a chamber -- than the 223/5.56.
We could design a different case/cartridge, of course, but that's a whole new ball of messy wax.
CAUTION -- Controversial Suggestion: wipe a very, very,
very light bit of case lube/Imperial wax on steel cases if you're having a persistent problem. It does
not cause a bolt thrust demon to appear any more than I highly polished chamber.
