.32 mag/.38 spl Bullet Choices?

If you had to pick one "all around" bullet for a fixed site .32 mag Single-Six what would it be? A 100 gr. JHP or 115 gr hard cast lead, either of them pushed fast, yet accurate.

I'm wanting to develope a standard load for my gun before I "dial in" the sites. The gun will generally get used in Iowa for plinking, back-up home-defense and hunting game up to coyote. But I may also decide carry it when hiking in other parts of the country where it may be pressed into service against black bear or for emergency deer hunting. I know the .32 is "light" (ok, way light) for both those and that a .44 would be better, but dang, I like my .32 so much I'd hate to leave it at home.

Same question applies for a .38 spl S&W Mod.10? Heavy lead or JHP? Although the .38 has a much better selection of bullets.
