I'll post pics as soon as I can! Do you think the value is decreased since I pretty much had to strip the whole thing down and redo it? It was in bad shape but looks great now, only I know with things like the Lee Enfields any condition which changes the basic surface (painting, etc.) tends to decrease the value. is this true with Winchester lever actions/ most older rifles? I just couldnt leave it like that though, with old paint flecks and rust accumulating on the barrel. It looks horrible when I bought it, but I fixed it up pretty nicely, I think!
The lever still seems pretty tight (in fact, it seemed to have less horizontal movement in the lever than the Winchester 94 Ranger they had in the shop I had been eyeing), and the stock was in great shape with no cracks or anything. Other than the fact the gun looked like it has been neglected/forgotten somewhere for a while, I love the way it looks now and I'm VERY glad I got them down to that price.
