I have two 99's, one is a 250-3000 light weight take down model, the other 99 is a 300 Savage.
Both have iron sights and that's the way I'm going to leave them.
I've been shooting both rifles with iron sights, been doing pretty well with them considering my old eyes.
I previously owned a Savage 99 in 300 Savage caliber, took a lot of deer with that rifle, most were running shots.
I thought I needed a 30-06 and traded off the 99 for one, that was a mistake that won't happen again.
In my opinion the 99's have great balance and a natural swing.
