Agreed---you don't need to mess with it.


If you ever DO need to get the last turn on a spring
to lay flat--say a cut down recoil spring or something--

Heat a flat piece of steel to red, press the end of the spring
against it. that last coil will heat and bend flat without
screwing up the temper of the rest of the spring.
