Always remember that a barrel vibrates when fired .Interfere with those vibrations and accuracy can be lost.
My last rifle purchase was a Kimber SS/Synthetic 223. I wasn't happy with the accuracy as it was supposed to be free floating and it didn't seem to be quite free !! I put a SS shim under the front of the receiver for positive clearance .Groups shrunk in half !
