Great Western was a California company which set up to make single action revolvers in the 1950s before Colt resumed making the SAA and before Ruger came out with the Blackhawk. They made them in most common calibers of the day, but faded out because they could not compete with Colt and Ruger when they resumed/started making guns to cash in on the western movie and TV stimulated market.

Resale value depends strongly on condition and finding an interested buyer; probably in the middle hundreds of dollars.

Heard it said that Matt Dillon (the one in Gunsmoke, not the other one) carried a G.W.
