Looks like youre in the Coat Guard. Been on a Cutter yet? Red lights after sunset. It doesnt help to see better, it keeps you from the night blindness that that white light causes. In a night OP you want the area flooded with white light so you can see and blind (hopefully) those with ill intent.

p.s. I spent 14 years in the CG. Cutters Axe, Tampa, Chase and Station St. Petersburg.
