S/N 20984 32 cal S&W Model 1 1/2 Break Top nickel excellent condition, nickel 95% easily. Can you guys tell me what it would be worth paying for it?
SN's ran from 1 in 1878 to 97574 in 1892.
Book prices from 2006 show $400 in Excellent to $1200 As New.
6" or longer barrel adds a premium.

I was just given a S&W M&P 4" nickel, 38 special. serial #301***.
Assuming there is no letter prefix, that SN dates it to ~1920.
It would be a .38 M&P 4th Change which ran from 1915 to the end of WWII.
It went on to become the Model 10 when S&W starting assigning model numbers ~1957.
