I passed on the ruger singles because reloading is slow. I have a model 94 4in Taurus which is ok and a model 617 smith in 4in which was worth every penny. 6 in was essentially the same price reviews said 4in balanced better.

I paid 700 for mine after shipping and transfer. 649 +25+25. Used ones were just as much if not more for a pre lock version. I recommend going with the 617. Taurus came from the factory with flawless finish but trigger pull was 20+ pounds in double action. Smith is much more heavy duty and well worth the extra cost.
