There are many, many stories about "the worst deer hunter ever", many of them made up, others true. I know some of them are true, I used to work with one of the worst hunters ever, and we used to just cringe when he would tell us about his outings:
- Shot a buck that turned out to be a doe. The warden "explained" it to him.
- Shot a deer and it didn't fall down! We pointed out that you have to actually hit it somewhere vital for that to happen.
- Couldn't figure out why there were no deer in the pastures, there was plenty of grass. He didn't believe us when we told him deer hide and eat branches.
- Carried a 32ACP as a sidearm in case a deer "turned on him".
- Shot a "fallow deer" one year, he was sure because it had spots.

And on and on . . .
