Legal in all states but one, I think.
Nonetheless, not for me. Attorneys tell me that the legal risk involves a very slippery slope indeed, and most of the books and websites on personal defense seem to concur.

Make them? Well, in some states one could use
non-deadly force. Hold them at gun point? Well, you do see that in old westerns, but what's the "point" if you cannot shoot them?
